You may have seen several people already and had a bunch of tests, but nobody can figure out what's going on. Perhaps you've been told that it's 'all in your head'. We'll take the time to listen to you properly and help you work out the next steps.
Some types of pain can be really difficult to diagnose. Even common conditions can present in unusual ways, or with symptoms that are hard to describe, and in a fast-paced medical system that sometimes means things get overlooked. In our experience, these "mystery" conditions sometimes turn out to be something straightforward that was missed, and sometimes they are something more unusual.
We can't promise that we'll always find the answer. What we can do is take the time to listen to you carefully, consider the different options and do our best to find out what's going on. If we can't, we'll point you in the right direction for where to go next.
We regularly see patients who are frustrated because they feel they haven't been listened to, or they've been told there's "nothing wrong" but they're still suffering. "I think they think I'm making it up" is a common worry. We have a lot of experience talking to people about pain, and we think it's important that you feel safe, believed and not rushed.
